Question Two - Jesus Coming like a Thief
It'll Happen EXACTLY as Jesus Said!
Jesus, and later His Apostles, said Christ's Second Coming will be, "Like a Thief in the Night" and it will! Jesus said, "No one knoweth the day nor the hour" (Matt.24:36, see also vs 42,44,50, and 25:13)! So we have another Question to Ponder, and the Question arises by the very Books and Bible Footnotes that were designed to promote Pre-Trib.
Day of the Lord Shall Come as a Thief in the Night
"But the Day of the Lord will come as a Thief in the night, in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat! The Earth also, and the works that are in it, shall be burned up" (2Pt.3:10)! Now let's look at the Scofield Bible Footnote about this text:
"The expression 'in the which' refers to the close of the Day of the Lord at the end of the millennium, when the destruction of the heavens and earth ends the Day of the Lord (Rev.20:11;21:1)" (Scofield Footnote under 2Pt.3:10).
The Scofield Footnote is correct because the Bible teaches exactly this from beginning to end. We must apply this same wisdom to all Bible Prophecies of End-Times. But, if Pre-Trib admits that there'll be a massive destruction of heaven and earth at the end of what they call a Millennial Kingdom here on Earth, they create another massive problem for their Rapture Theory:
Is God's Kingdom Millennial or Everlasting?
If God's Kingdom is an Earthly Millennial Kingdom, and it is located here on Earth, and this Earth is to be destroyed by Fire at the end of the Millennium, then God's Kingdom is not EVERLASTING - it'll be Temporary!!! We have a Website, The REAL Everlasting Kingdom of God, devoted to this and several Questions Pre-Trib Ponders, so we'll not spend time on this here. We will say, however, that if we take what the Bible REALLY says and build our Theories and Doctrines upon the Word of God, there will be No Un-Answerable Questions. Bible Prophecies fit like a glove when the Bible and the Bible ONLY is our source.
We'll conclude this Website by simply saying that Jesus will come as "Thief in the Night" and He will "Take His People to the Mansions He has Prepared for them IN His Father's House" (Jn.14:1-3)! When Jesus comes and says to His People, "Come ye Blessed, inherit the Kingdom Prepared for you from the foundation of the earth" (Matt.24:34), the Kingdom He refers to is NOT this earth devastated by 7 plagues and a massive world-wide earthquake, as is taught by Pre-Trib! Jesus will be referring again to the Grand and Glorious Everlasting Kingdom of God never to be destroyed! At each of the Scriptures about Jesus coming as a Thief in the Night, we are admonished to "Watch!" Let's do it!!
Thank you, Dear Reader, for your time and interest. Let's Pray together that God will sen His Holy Spirit so that we can know the Truth about Christ's Coming.
Yours in Christ
